Jan Briggs invited/enlisted me to take photos at the quarterly luncheon of the Pearland Alvin Freindswood Realtor Alliance (PAF), held today at Golfcrest Country Club. Bob Hale, President of the Houston Association of Realtors was the featured speaker.
There were over a hundred Realtors in attendance, along with associated professionals from the industry.
Bob Hale attended last month’s National Association of Realtors convention in New Orleans and shared insight with the PAF group regarding the effects of technology on how homes are being sold. Hale said that last year was the first year that more consumers found their new home themselves than the old model of having an agent find a home for them. He illustrated several ways Realtors need to keep current in their real estate practice, including taking full advantage of emerging technologies, such as iPad-friendly listings, youTube video, and social networking.
“Beginning this Christmas,” Hale said, “People are going to be surfing the internet, including looking at your listings, on 52-inch Sony TV’s in the comfort of their own living room. You need to give them something to look at. Utilize video, HAR ratings and large photographs in your listings.”
And here’s the part that I liked most —
“If you do nothing else, you absolutely must use sharp, clear, high-quality photographs in your listing… and lots of them.”
Thanks, Bob… I couldn’t have said it better myself!
